FAQ

Questions, answered.

How Plumrole finds roles, prepares applications and keeps your information private.

The basics

What is Plumrole?

Plumrole finds live roles straight from company career pages, ranks them by how well they fit your resume, and prepares a tailored application for each one: cover letter, resume and answers to the company's own questions. You approve everything before you apply.

Who is it for?

Engineers, product managers, marketers, data scientists and MBA candidates looking at tech and healthcare companies, from hot startups to the largest tech employers.

Is it free?

Yes, while we're in beta. Founding members can lock in a lower Pro price before paid plans launch. See pricing on the home page.

Do I need an account?

Yes, a free account (email and password) is needed to use the app. It saves your resume, tracker and Apply queue so you can pick up where you left off on any device. The blog, templates and resources are open to everyone.

Jobs and matching

Where do the jobs come from?

Directly from the public job boards companies use, such as Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever and Workday, plus Amazon's own careers site. We only use sources that allow it, and we never scrape sites that forbid it.

How fresh are the listings?

Listings refresh every few hours. Each role shows when it was posted, and the newest roles appear first when you browse.

What does the fit score mean?

It's a 0–100 estimate of how well a role matches you, based on your target titles, the level you want, location and remote preferences, and how much of the job description overlaps with your resume. The chips under each role explain the score.

Why don't some roles show a salary?

We show pay only when the company publishes it in the posting. Many US states now require a pay range, so you'll see it on most California, New York, Colorado and Washington roles. Use "Pay listed" to filter and "Sort: highest pay" to compare.

What's an "agency post"?

A listing from a staffing firm or recruiter that hides the real employer. Those rarely help, so Plumrole hides them by default. You can show them with one click.

Do you have MBA internships?

Yes. Choose "MBA & internship" to see MBA, associate and business internship roles in product, marketing, strategy and operations. Internship pay shows per hour, week or month when listed.

Applications

How does Apply for me work?

Queue up to 10 roles. Plumrole prepares each application: a cover letter, a "why this role" answer and answers to the company's own application questions where the company publishes them. Every answer is labeled with where it came from, and anything we can't answer from your information is marked "Needs you". You review, approve, then open each form with your answers ready to paste.

Does Plumrole submit applications for me?

Not yet, and never without your approval. Today you submit on the company's site. Hands-free sending for approved applications is coming next, and you'll still approve every one first.

Will the AI make things up?

It's instructed to use only facts from your resume and profile, never to invent employers, titles, dates or numbers, and to leave answers blank rather than guess. Gaps are flagged honestly. You should still read every line before you send it. You know your history best.

How is this different from auto-apply bots?

Bots send hundreds of generic applications for you, often with inflated details, and you find out what was sent afterward. Plumrole helps you send fewer, better applications that are written for each role, and nothing goes out without your approval.

Can I get a tailored resume?

Yes. Open any role and choose "Write my resume". Plumrole's resume agent studies the role, rewrites your resume for it using only facts from your original, then checks every line and flags anything it can't trace back. It also checks ATS compatibility and background-check readiness. Download it as a Word file or save it as a PDF.

Is there a limit on AI drafts?

During the beta there's a daily limit per person to keep things fast and free. It resets every day.

Privacy and your data

Where is my resume stored?

In your account, so it syncs across your devices, and in the browser you use. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time. When you ask for a draft, your resume and the job description are sent to our AI provider to write it, and the result comes straight back to you.

What happens if I clear my browser or switch devices?

Nothing is lost. Log in on any device and your resume, tracker and queue come back. You can also export your tracker to CSV any time.

What do you do with my email?

Only what you sign up for: new matching roles, product updates and early access. You can ask to be removed at any time.

Are you affiliated with the companies listed?

No. Company names identify where a role was posted. Plumrole isn't endorsed by or affiliated with those companies.
