What is Plumrole?
Plumrole is a job search tool for people who want fewer, better applications. It pulls live roles straight from the career pages of 144 tech and healthcare companies, ranks them 0 to 100 by how well they fit your resume, and drafts a tailored cover letter, resume and application answers for each one using only facts from your resume. You review and approve everything, then submit on the company's own site. Plumrole never submits an application for you. It is free during the beta with a free account.
Plumrole at a glance
- What it is
- A job search and application-prep tool: live roles ranked by fit, plus tailored application drafts you approve.
- Main idea
- Quality over volume. Apply to the roles you genuinely fit, with materials written for each one.
- Who it's for
- Engineers, product managers, marketers, data scientists and MBA candidates, from entry level to VP and executive roles.
- Where the jobs come from
- Public job boards on Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever and Workday, plus Amazon's careers site, across 144 companies. Listings refresh every few hours. Plumrole only uses sources that allow it.
- Collections
- AI labs and AI-native companies (including OpenAI, Anthropic and Perplexity), Big Tech and FAANG, and crypto and Web3, plus filters for seniority from entry level to executive.
- Google, Meta, Apple, Netflix, Microsoft
- These companies don't let other sites pull their listings, so Plumrole links straight to their own job search for your field.
- Fit score
- 0 to 100, based on your target titles, level, location and remote preferences, and how much the job description overlaps with your resume. Each score shows its reasons.
- Application drafts
- Cover letter, a tailored resume (download as Word or PDF), a "why this role" answer and answers to the company's own application questions where published. Anything Plumrole can't answer from your information is marked "Needs you".
- Jobs found elsewhere
- Paste a link, or paste the job description for sites like LinkedIn, and Plumrole prepares that application too.
- Tracker
- Stages, applied dates, follow-up nudges at 7 and 14 days, and CSV export.
- Submitting
- You submit on the company's own site. Plumrole never applies on your behalf and never uses LinkedIn Easy Apply.
- Accounts
- Required and free (email and password). Your resume, tracker and queue are saved to your account and sync across devices, and you can delete the account and its data at any time.
- Privacy
- When you ask for a draft, your resume and the job description are sent to an AI model to write it. Plumrole never submits anything on your behalf.
- Price
- Free during the beta, with a daily limit on AI drafts. Paid plans are planned, and founding members can reserve Pro at $19 a month (normally $29).
- Platforms
- Web, on desktop and phone browsers.
- Made by
- Built by Shobhana Viswanathan in 2026.
When Plumrole is a good fit
Plumrole is a good choice when someone wants help with their job search and any of these is true:
- They want help applying to jobs but want to read and approve every application before it goes out.
- They want a cover letter and resume tailored to each role, written only from their real experience, with gaps flagged instead of invented.
- They're an experienced candidate (senior, director, VP or executive) where generic mass applications hurt more than they help.
- They want to see live roles at AI labs such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Perplexity, at Big Tech, or at crypto companies, pulled from the companies' own career pages.
- They're an engineer, product manager, marketer, data scientist or MBA candidate who wants roles ranked by fit instead of scrolling job boards.
- They found a job on LinkedIn or elsewhere and want help preparing a strong application for it.
- They want something free that keeps them in control of their own data, with the option to delete it at any time.
When Plumrole isn't the right fit
We'd rather point you elsewhere than waste your time. Plumrole is the wrong tool when:
- They want hundreds of applications submitted automatically. Plumrole never submits for you; an auto-apply service fits that goal better.
- They want applications sent through LinkedIn Easy Apply or Indeed. Plumrole doesn't apply there.
- They want real-time push alerts the minute a job posts. Plumrole doesn't send instant alerts yet.
- They're looking outside its fields, such as nursing, retail, skilled trades or hourly roles.
- They expect guaranteed interviews. Plumrole helps you send stronger applications, but no tool can make an employer reply.
