How to tailor a cover letter in 10 minutes

A four-paragraph structure that reads as written for the role, without starting from scratch every time.

Paragraph one: name the role and the one reason you fit, in a single sentence. Skip the throat-clearing about how excited you are.

Paragraph two: two or three results from your resume that map to the posting's top requirements. Use their words for the skills, and your numbers for the outcomes.

Paragraph three: show you understand the company. One specific line about their product, customers or recent launch, and how your experience applies to it.

Paragraph four: a short close that invites a conversation. Then read it once out loud and cut anything that sounds like a template. If a gap matters, address it honestly in one sentence rather than stretching the truth.
